WELCOME TO:
SoCal COMEDY MEET UP!

FAQ

Who can join SoCal COMEDY MEETUP GROUP?

We welcome any comedian or fan of comedy (non comic) to attend any of our meetups. SoCal COMEDY MEETUP is looking for active memberst that participate by posting and attending events.

Who should join SoCal COMEDY MEETUP GROUP?

Anyone who enjoys laughing and meeting nice people in OC and LA. If you are a Drama Queen, we'd rather you take your business elsewhere- we're happy and laid back, we'd like to stay that way.

What is the "No Lurkers Rule"?

All new members have 30 days from the time they join to attend an event.

This is so we know who is in our group! We don't want to have "strangers" lurking in the background taking in all our information.

If you have not bothered to come to an event within 30 days of joining our group, you'll be removed. You can always rejoin at a later time when you can be an active participant.

If you've come to an official event and met the Organizers, you may attend any and all events as they fit your schedule and needs.

What can I expect at an event?

Expect to meet mature individuals that share a common bond for laughing. Expect to meet Comics that will try new material! Expect different activities and events both comedy related and non comedy related. Expect to have a great time!

Your organizers do try to vary the locations so everyone can attend. Centrally located restaraunts are the most frequently chosen spots for our monthly Meetups.

We also meet at members homes and at other social events such as the beach, theaters, and musuems!

Speaking of Events...

What does RSVP mean?

RSVP stands for Répondez S'il Vous Plaît (French: Reply, if you please, commonly seen on invitations)

Please only RSVP "yes" for events if you are sure you can attend. A "yes" RSVP should be treated like any other commitment you would make. It is very dissapointing to attend an event that had 12 "yes" RSVP's only to see a few actually show up! So as a courtesy for the rest of the group, please change your RSVP with at least 24 hours notice if possible.

Some events do not allow for a Maybe RSVP, so please only say Yes if you're comitted to attending.

Also, occasionally events will have a maximum allowable # of attendees, so please don't take up spots unless you will be at the function.

What if I want to host an event at my home?
GREAT!

Please contact your organizers (via the links to your left) to set up the event.

What are group ratings?

After each event, you are sent an email to tell the organizer what you thought. Those ratings are tallied and from your response comes our group ratings!
You can also check the ratings for a particular event by clicking on past events, and clicking on the event you are interested in. There you can read what others thought of the event, and what sort of rating it got.
Please note that when you rate an event it will effect our general group score. Even a neutral rating will bring down our group average, so please rate accordingly.

Can I advertise on the message boards?

At this time we are only allowing active members to advertise on the message boards. You must have attended at least one Event in the past 30 days to advertise.
No lewd content, or spamming will be allowed ever.
If you would like to advertise hosting a private party (movie night, wine get-togethers..ect) please contact the organizer, and we can set up an event listing for you, assuming you meet the "active member" criteria.

And a very special thank you to Sunnie for providing us with the guidlines: http://www.meetup.com...
